InFiNe at the Global Microfinance Forum: Showcasing Luxembourg’s Leadership in Gender Finance

InFiNe was present at the 21st Annual Global Microfinance & Financial Inclusion Forum held in Istanbul on 31 March – 1 April 2026. On this occasion, InFiNe Board Member Philippe Guichandut delivered a presentation on “How is Luxembourg promoting Gender Finance?”, highlighting the country’s growing role in advancing gender-responsive financial solutions.

Promoting Luxembourg’s inclusive finance ecosystem

The session provided an opportunity to showcase Luxembourg’s unique ecosystem, bringing together financial institutions, public actors, NGOs, research institutions, and impact organisations working collectively to advance inclusive finance globally.

The presentation also highlighted the role of InFiNe in connecting this ecosystem and promoting collaboration between members engaged in financial inclusion, impact finance, and responsible investment.

Gender Finance as a driver of inclusive growth

The discussion underlined the importance of Gender Finance as a key lever to address persistent inequalities in access to financial services. Despite progress, significant gaps remain in access to finance for women entrepreneurs and economic actors worldwide.

Philippe Guichandut also presented concrete examples of initiatives led by InFiNe members, illustrating how Luxembourg-based organisations are contributing to:

  • advancing gender-lens investment approaches
  • supporting women entrepreneurs through access to finance
  • promoting diversity within financial institutions
  • strengthening research and technical assistance on women’s financial inclusion

Strengthening international dialogue

InFiNe’s participation in the forum reflects its ongoing commitment to sharing Luxembourg expertise internationally and contributing to global dialogue on building more inclusive and equitable financial systems.

Such engagements also help strengthen the visibility of the Luxembourg ecosystem and foster partnerships that can accelerate progress in financial inclusion.
