Business Partnership Facility, the new project of the Luxembourg Cooperation

The Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs has launched a new project: “Business Patnership Facility” (BDF), an initiative to support the private sector contributing to the development cooperation and the job creation.

BDF is a financing facility that aims to promote the Luxembourg and European companies to work together with partners in developing countries to implement sustainable business opportunities. Its annual budget is 1.000.000€. The co-financing, considered as a grant, can be of up to 200,000 euros and will cover up to 50 % of the total project.

The eligible business sectors are:

  1. ICT Information and Communication Technologies
  2. Biohealth
  3. Fintech
  4. Eco-innovation

Targerted countries are:

BDF targets all developing countries but countries where Luxembourg is present, will be favored, namely:

  • Africa: Burkina Faso, Cabo Verde, Ethiopia, Mali, Nigeria, Senegal
  • Asia: Laos, Mongolia, Myanmar, Vietnam
  • Central America: El Salvador, Nicaragua
  • Europe: Kosovo
