First GGSF Gender-Smart Action Lab Brings Gender Equity into Action

The inaugural GGSF Gender-Smart Action Lab brought together professionals from the finance, impact and development sectors for a day of collaboration, reflection and practical action to advance gender equity.

1. Creating a Different Kind of Conversation

Designed as an interactive experience rather than a traditional conference, the Action Lab encouraged participants to engage actively with questions of gender equity, challenge assumptions, share experiences and explore practical ways to build more inclusive workplaces, financial systems and communities.

2. Turning Dialogue into Action

Throughout the day, participants explored the barriers that continue to hold women back while exchanging perspectives from across the finance and impact sectors. Discussions focused on moving beyond theory and identifying concrete actions to foster greater inclusion.

3. Innovation Through Collaboration

One of the highlights of the event was the collaborative workshop, where participants worked in teams to design and pitch gender-focused investment funds. The proposed solutions addressed topics including women’s health, childcare, financial literacy, infrastructure and entrepreneurship, showcasing creativity and practical thinking.

4. Individual Commitments for Collective Change

The Action Lab concluded with participants sharing personal and professional commitments to advance gender equity. From supporting women entrepreneurs and promoting paternity leave to addressing unconscious bias and improving representation, these commitments demonstrated that lasting change is built through individual action.

InFiNe congratulates the GGSF team on the successful organisation of this first Gender-Smart Action Lab and looks forward to supporting future initiatives that continue advancing gender-smart finance and inclusive development.
