European Money Quiz: Promoting Financial Literacy Among Europe’s Youth
The European Money Quiz (EMQ) is a pan‑European financial literacy competition designed to strengthen young people’s knowledge of money, personal finance, and responsible decision-making. Coordinated by the European Banking Federation (EBF) and implemented nationally by members including the Association des Banques et Banquiers, Luxembourg (ABBL), the EMQ engages students aged 13–15 in a fun and interactive knowledge challenge during European Money Week.
Through national competitions, students tackle questions on savings, budgeting, debt, digital security, and other key financial topics. The best-performing teams advance to the European final in Brussels, competing against national winners from over 30 countries. The quiz encourages participants to build confidence in managing money and making informed financial decisions, skills increasingly essential in today’s financial environment.
As a member of InFiNe, ABBL contributes to initiatives like the EMQ, reinforcing the network’s commitment to financial education, knowledge sharing, and capacity building within Luxembourg’s inclusive finance ecosystem.
