InFiNe to Lead Session on De-Risking at Building Bridges 2025 Summit

InFiNe is proud to announce our participation as a session leader at the prestigious Building Bridges 2025 Summit, taking place from September 30 to October 2, 2025 in Geneva (Switzerland). As one of Europe’s leading sustainable finance conferences, Building Bridges brings together key stakeholders to advance the sustainable finance agenda through innovative solutions and collaborative dialogue.

Showcasing Luxembourg’s De-Risking Expertise

On Wednesday, October 1st, 2025, from 14:30-15:30, InFiNe will lead a dedicated session titled “Risk Mitigation Mechanisms in Inclusive Finance: the Luxembourg Experiences” on the Solutions Stage, at the heart of the Building Bridges village, where ideas meet action.

“This session represents an excellent opportunity to showcase Luxembourg’s distinctive expertise in inclusive finance and the innovative approaches our network has developed to address investment risks. By sharing our members’ experiences and lessons learned, we aim to promote Luxembourg’s unique ecosystem on the international stage, while supporting increased commitments to inclusive finance through practical risk management solutions,”

explains Philippe Guichandut, InFiNe’s Interim Director who will be leading the session.

Building on the momentum of our De-Risking Working Group initiatives launched in 2025, this session will provide practitioners and investors with concrete insights into how Luxembourg actors are successfully leveraging various de-risking mechanisms to scale their investments and attract new capital for inclusive finance activities.

Session attendees will gain in-depth understanding of practical risk mitigation approaches, including:

  • Hedging solutions and their application in emerging markets
  • Insurance mechanisms designed for inclusive finance investments
  • Technical assistance programs that reduce operational risks
  • Guarantee structures that enable greater private sector participation
  • First-loss provisions and their role in mobilizing institutional capital

The discussion will go beyond theory, offering honest assessments of both the benefits and limitations of these mechanisms. Participants will leave with practical insights directly from practitioners who have successfully navigated risk mitigation in the inclusive finance sector.

Advancing InFiNe’s Mission

This session aligns perfectly with InFiNe’s mission to leverage Luxembourg’s significant expertise to promote financial inclusion globally. By sharing our members’ experiences and lessons learned, we aim to:

  • Promote Luxembourg’s inclusive finance ecosystem on the international stage
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing between Luxembourg actors and global practitioners
  • Support increased commitments to inclusive finance through practical risk management solutions
  • Strengthen collaboration within the sustainable finance community

We encourage InFiNe members, partners, and all stakeholders committed to advancing inclusive finance to join us at Building Bridges 2025. The summit offers an exceptional opportunity to connect with like-minded professionals, discover innovative solutions, and contribute to shaping the future of sustainable finance.

This session builds upon our ongoing De-Risking Working Group activities, which have brought together more than 50% of InFiNe’s membership to collaborate on developing Luxembourg-based de-risking solutions. Following successful training and knowledge exchange sessions earlier this year, we are excited to share these insights with the broader international community.
