Location: EY Office Luxembourg (35E avenue John F. Kennedy. Luxembourg L-1855)
Organiser: InFiNe
Event type: Training

The ILF Training Day is a one-day, in-person practical workshop focused on Impact-Linked Finance (ILF), an innovative financing approach that aligns financial terms with measurable impact outcomes. ILF moves beyond traditional financing by embedding impact incentives directly into investment structures, enabling capital providers and enterprises to pursue outcomes that matter while maintaining strong financial discipline.
Delivered by Roots of Impact, a global leader in the development and application of Impact-Linked Finance, in collaboration with the Swiss Agency for Development & Cooperation and the Grameen Crédit Agricole Foundation, this training is designed for immediate applicability in real-world transactions. Throughout the day, participants will work with experienced practitioners, learn from international case studies and take part in structured exercises that illustrate how ILF mechanisms operate across sectors and contexts.
This is a focused, hands-on session where you will gain practical tools, tested frameworks and actionable insights that can be applied directly in your work.
The training provides a practical introduction to the core principles and instruments of Impact-Linked Finance, with a focus on how financial terms can be linked to measurable impact outcomes. Participants will explore how impact incentives are embedded into financing structures and how approaches evolve from activity-based funding to outcome-linked arrangements.
Drawing on selected real-world ILF case examples, the day combines expert input with interactive group work, including the design of ILF facilities and an introduction to instruments such as the Simple Agreement for Future Impact (SAFI). The sessions are informed by more than a decade of ILF practice and include practical guidance on structuring ILF transactions.
The training concludes with an open discussion and Q&A with the speakers.
