Early June, the Midi de la microfinance et de l’inclusion financière focused on MIV (Microfinance Investment Vehicles).
InFiNe.lu member Kaspar Wansleben (LMDF) and Martin Heimes (responsAbility) discussed the challenges and opportunities of socially responsible investments while in Luxembourg alone there are more than 40 different MIVs, which represents close to 50% of all microfinance assets!
Within 20 years, MIVs have increased to over 10 billion dollars’ worth of assets managed by the private sector, and more than 40% of investments in MFIs are made through MIVs. In this context, the two microfinance funds (LMDF and responsAbility), besides to be very different in size, have actually a complementary role.
The debate was moderated by InfiNe.lu member Arnaud Gillin (Innpact), and concluded by Sarah Canetti (ADA).
