Financing Innovation Tool (FIT) SIS

Member description

The Financing Innovation Tool (FIT), launched in May 2023 by ADA in partnership with the Luxembourg Cooperation, is a Société d’Impact Sociétal (SIS) designed to address the chronic shortage of flexible, risk-tolerant, long-term capital for innovative, impact-oriented initiatives in developing countries.

FIT’s mission is threefold: to strengthen the financial sustainability of these initiatives, enhance their investment readiness, and amplify their social and environmental impact.

FIT supports a diverse and growing portfolio of ventures that promote inclusive and sustainable development across the globe—from women-led investment initiatives in Senegal to solar equipment leasing for SMEs in Guatemala. Their integrated approach combines catalytic financial instruments with facilitated access to targeted capacity-building support, ensuring that each initiative is equipped to grow, adapt, and deliver long-term impact.

Mission in Inclusive Finance

Through its “Donate to Invest” model, FIT seeks to position inclusive finance as a strategic lever for sustainable development by deploying donor funding into catalytic financing that unlocks transformative impact and directly contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

More than a financing mechanism, FIT is a platform for systemic change, fostering a more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable financial ecosystem.

In the field of inclusive finance, especially in a context where traditional funding mechanisms fail to reach, FIT plays a catalytic role by bridging the gap between innovation and inclusion. It equips local actors to scale impactful solutions that respond to the specific needs of vulnerable populations.
