The Luxembourg Finance Labelling Agency (LuxFLAG) has announced a strategic transformation of its identity and label architecture, reinforcing its position as a globally recognized, independent labelling agency dedicated to advancing sustainable finance.

Updated Vision and Mission

LuxFLAG has refined its core statements to better reflect its international scope and strategic direction:
Vision: To be the leading, globally recognized, independent non-profit labelling and verification agency for financial products, contributing to a resilient and sustainable world by fostering trust, transparency and impact.

Mission: Empowering the international financial community in their sustainability journey by granting recognized labels to the most trustable and impactful financial products.

New Tagline:

The agency has evolved its logo tagline from “Supporting Sustainable Finance” to “Global Labelling Agency,” underscoring its expanded international role and commitment to delivering transparency and credibility across borders.

Streamlined Label Structure

LuxFLAG has consolidated its range from eight label categories into three distinctive categories, responding to market feedback and strengthening clarity and global applicability:

Impact Label – certified by LuxFLAG: For financial products directly targeting positive environmental or social outcomes (consolidates former Microfinance, Environment, Climate Finance, and Social Impact Labels)

ESG Label – certified by LuxFLAG: For financial products and services integrating ESG criteria across their investment process (unifies former ESG, ESG Insurance Product, and ESG Discretionary Mandate Labels)

Transition Labelcertified by LuxFLAG: A newly approved label for financial products supporting environmental, climate and social transition pathways toward more sustainable business models

Strategic Objectives

The streamlined structure aims to strengthen the perception of LuxFLAG Labels as globally applicable, reinforce LuxFLAG’s role as a global labelling agency for Impact, ESG, and Transition investments, and provide a simplified, intuitive label offer aligned with international best practices.

Founded in 2006 by seven charter members including several InFiNe members (ABBL, ADA, ALFI, EIB, Luxembourg for Finance, and the Luxembourg Government), LuxFLAG has established itself as a key partner to asset managers and financial service providers committed to responsible investment.
