InFiNe Visit | Climate-Resilient  and Inclusive Finance Solutions in Hue, Vietnam

As part of the latest InFiNe Visit, members had the opportunity to engage with LuxDev and learn about their initiatives supporting vulnerable communities in Hue, Vietnam a region highly exposed to climate risks such as floods, droughts, and sea-level rise.

During the session, Hien Bui Thi Mai, Chief Technical Adviser at LuxDev Vietnam, presented two key programmes: the Finance for Resilience project, funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Luxembourg, and the CARe Hue climate adaptation initiative, supported by the Green Climate Fund and the MECB. Both projects aim to strengthen economic resilience by developing climate-smart value chains, enhancing financial inclusion, and creating investment-ready opportunities for smallholders and women-led enterprises.

LuxDev highlighted promising models in sectors such as red hibiscus, banana, herbal products, and women-led artisan crafts, demonstrating how market-system development can combine climate resilience, economic viability, and social inclusion. The work also includes collaboration with financial institutions like Agribank to design Agriculture Value Chain Finance products adapted to local needs.

Throughout the visit, LuxDev emphasised the importance of partnerships to scale these approaches. Opportunities for collaboration with InFiNe members include expertise sharing on inclusive finance, support for impact-investable SMEs, and risk-mitigation instruments for climate-affected communities.

This InFiNe Visit underscored the potential for stronger synergies between the inclusive finance community and development cooperation actors, reinforcing the shared ambition to promote resilient, gender-sensitive, and bankable solutions for vulnerable populations. . For further information:
