October 2nd
On the occasion of the launch of the report “Risks of impacts of economic activities on populations in the Global South: case studies from Luxembourg”, the NGO ASTM (Action Solidarité Tiers Monde) is organizing a webinar on the human rights impact of the financial sector.
As Luxembourg is currently studying the possibility of legislating on mandatory human rights due diligence, the webinar will examine the state of play and the challenges regarding the human rights compliance in the financial sector, the most important economic sector in Luxembourg.
The discussion will include contributions from Ryan Brightwell, human rights campaign coordinator at BankTrack, Antoniya Argirova, policy officer at ASTM and Alexander Feldmann, project leader at Etika Asbl. The webinar will be moderated by Cédric Reichel, coordinator of Klima-Bündnis Luxembourg – Global South.
Ryan Brightwell joined BankTrack in October 2012 as a Researcher and Editor, and he coordinates BankTrack’s campaign work on human rights. Previously, he worked at the Co-operative Group as a specialist in ethical finance, including implementing The Co-operative Bank’s Ethical Policy. He holds a BSc in Mathematics and Management Science from the University of Manchester and a MA in Sociology from Manchester Metropolitan University.
