Friendship Luxembourg, a long-standing member of the InFiNe network and partner in inclusive development, recently celebrated 20 years of dedicated support to vulnerable communities in Bangladesh through integrated humanitarian and climate resilience initiatives.
Founded in 2006 to support the work of Friendship Bangladesh and rooted in deep international cooperation, Friendship Luxembourg has played a key role in mobilising resources, knowledge and partnerships toward sustainable development outcomes. The organisation’s multi-dimensional approach combines health, education, income-generating programmes, climate adaptation, and inclusive finance through its sister microfinance institution APDS.
The anniversary event, organised with longstanding partners including the Luxembourg Ministry of Environment, Climate and Biodiversity (MECB), brought together key stakeholders to reflect on two decades of collaboration that bridge solidarity and climate action. The celebration underscored how international cooperation and community-based solutions can transform lives and strengthen resilience in some of the world’s most climate-sensitive regions.
Friendship Luxembourg continues to embody a labouratory of partnerships, fostering connections between civil society, public institutions and private actors in Luxembourg in support of global development challenges.
