Financial Inclusion and the Future of Work
Two years of a game-changing pandemic, the advent of artificial intelligence and other new technologies, together with innovative EU policies regarding youth and social economy, all cast a bright light on the truly pivotal moment microfinance is finding itself in. Anticipation and forward-thinking will be instrumental mindsets in carving a path for the sector and let it reach its full potential in the fight for financial inclusion. And this is precisely what the 19th EMN Annual Conference will aim to foster.
The sheer number of missing profiles in the entrepreneurial landscape, as highlighted in the latest edition of the OECD’s “Missing entrepreneurs”, must make us ask ourselves how financial inclusion practitioners can serve this major societal shift that will see less salaried employment, more self-employment, and the urgent need to take into account all vulnerable groups and the challenges brought by climate change.
