Social impact bonds (SIBs) are a widely debated concept in social finance. In the beginning of 2016, European Impact Investing Luxembourg (EIIL) has equally engaged in the research on operational and regulatory measures necessary for making impact bonds a powerful funding tool for the social economy. As a result, EIIL dedicates its 2016 annual event to this theme.
The conference will start off with a panel gathering European experts and practitioners moderated by Jim Clifford, Director of BWB Impact and BWB Advisory. Dai Powell (HCT Group- a community transport enterprise), Eric Buckens (ABN AMRO Netherlands), François de Borchgrave (KOIS Invest Belgium) and Eric Dupas-Laigo (Cabinet du Ministre chargé de l’économie sociale et solidaire en France) will discuss opportunities and challenges for social impact bonds in social finance sharing a wealth of experiences and expertise gathered with this instrument across Europe.
With Nicolas Schmit, Luxembourg Minister for Labour and the Social Economy, a second panel representing key stakeholders of the social sector and the impact investing community in Luxembourg will debate the potential of social impact bonds as a complementary funding tool for the social economy in Luxembourg.
The event will be held in English and be followed by a cocktail reception.
Date of the event: 13 December from 18:00 to 20:30
Place of the event : Ernst and Young Auditorium (35E Avenue J.-F.Kennedy L-1855 Luxembourg)
