The Effects of Regulation on Microfinance in West Africa, Zoom Microfinance, SOS Faim

The 43th Zoom Microfinance focuses on the effects of regulation on microfinance in West Africa. The countries of the West African Economic and Monetary Union have established regulations for their regional financial systems.

In Zoom Microfinance, SOS Faim asks the views of stakeholders from Microfinance Institutions, farmers’organisations, and producers in the region on the effects of such regulation. The authors highlight several trends  and perceptions of existing risks.
