AFI Announces 2025 Global Policy Forum in Swakopmund, Namibia

The Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI) has announced its 2025 Global Policy Forum, taking place in Swakopmund, Namibia, co-hosted by the Bank of Namibia. The event will bring together AFI members and partners to connect, discuss, and exchange insights on policies that are achieving real impact in financial inclusion.

Under the theme “Empowering society, enabling growth,” the forum emphasizes that financial inclusion extends beyond mere access to financial services: it serves as a fundamental driver of economic empowerment and sustainable progress. By expanding access to financial services, communities can stimulate local economies, create jobs, and support long-term development.

Namibia serves as an exemplary host, with the Bank of Namibia being a long-standing AFI member since 2010. The country has demonstrated steady progress in advancing financial inclusion through expanded access, strengthened consumer protection, and support for gender-inclusive, digital, and green finance, particularly targeting underserved communities.

The forum will provide a platform for the AFI network to exchange best practices and inspire action for financial inclusion, focusing on policies that foster resilience, unlock opportunities, and contribute to building a more inclusive and sustainable global economy.

The event reinforces AFI’s commitment to leaving no one behind in the journey toward universal financial inclusion.
