ADA Releases First Impact Report Showing Tangible Improvements for 860,000+ Beneficiaries

InFiNe member ADA has published its first comprehensive impact report, demonstrating how its programmes effectively improve living conditions for vulnerable populations while identifying areas for continued improvement.

From 2022 (when ADA implemented its current strategy) until 2024, a total of 423 partner organizations received technical support, with 66% located or operating in Africa, 25% in Latin America, and 7% in Asia.

Of these, 106 partner organizations provided vulnerable populations with services and solutions aimed at increasing their autonomy and improving their living conditions. In total, over 860,000 individuals (31% of whom are women), households, or businesses benefited from these solutions.

ADA’s programmes are designed to help vulnerable populations secure and diversify their economic resources, meet basic needs, acquire necessary skills for sustainable yet productive economic activities, and better integrate into local socio-economic systems. The impact analyses assess whether these interconnected outcomes are contributing to lasting improvements in people’s lives.

Key positive economic outcomes observed include

  • Increased agricultural productivity and income for smallholder farmers receiving financing and technical support for implementing good agricultural practices, with improvements in volume, yields, and quality of produce
  • Reduced losses for insured and compensated smallholder farmers in the event of shocks
  • Increased turnover and employment for businesses managed by or employing young people who receive financing and entrepreneurial support

Beyond economic gains, ADA’s interventions also improved living conditions

  • Increased confidence and peace of mind for insured smallholders
  • Improved comfort, greater sense of security, and more time to rest for households with access to running water
  • Increased food self-sufficiency, an unexpected positive outcome for smallholders who increased yields through improved access to inputs

Additionally, certain projects aimed at replacing fossil fuel-powered equipment with more efficient or solar-powered alternatives had significant positive environmental impacts due to considerable reductions in greenhouse gas emissions.

The report summarizes people’s perceptions of how their economic activity and living conditions have changed following ADA’s interventions, providing valuable insights for continuous improvement.
