The African Women’s Forum 2019 hosted by the Crans Montana Forum took place in Brussels from November 14th to November 16th, 2019. During three intensive days, Heads of States and Government, Ministers, Parliametnarians, young Entrepreneurs, NGOs and Heads of International and Regional Organisations from all over the world addressed “African Women: A model for their Youth but also the Whole World”.
One of the topics discussed this year was how to empower rural women in Africa and the strategic role of women to address the challenges of the development of the agri-food sector in Africa. The session was co-chaired by Mrs Maria Helena Semedo, Dep. Director General, UN Food and Agriculture Organisation and Mrs Josefa Leonel Correia Sacko, Commissioner for Rural Economy & Agriculture, African Union.

The Crans Montana Forum is a Non-Governmental International Organisation established since 1986, whose mission is to build a better world “Towards a more Human World”.
