What is the Social Performance Task Force ?

InFiNe.lu is member of the Social Performance Task Force (SPTF) and will attend its annual conference from February 19th to February 22nd in Mamallapuram in India. But what is the Social Performance Task Force?

SPTF is a global non-profit organisation working to advance social performance management (SPM). SPTF members are stakeholders groups in inclusive finance working together to promote standards and good practices for SPM. SPM is a management style putting clients at the center of every decision, strategy and operations to achieve social goals. SPM practices include defining and monitoring social goals, developing client-centric products and services, treating clients and employees responsibly, and balancing social and financial performances.

One of the accomplishments of SPTF is the release of the Universal Standards for Social Performance Management, a comprehensive manual of best SPM practices. These standards are resources for all financial services providers with social goals.

The annual conference in February will focus on Costumer Centricity: Enabling Financial Choices and Postive Outcomes for Low-Income Customers. It targets financial service providers, investors and policy makers committed to reaching people at the base of the pyramid. This year the conference is jointly organised by SPTF, CGAP, Dvara and LeapFrog Investments.

InFiNe.lu will report on the outcomes of the conference.
