The Association of Luxembourg Bankers (ABBL) joined forces with ALFI, ACA, and LPEA to meet with European Commissioner for Financial Services Maria Luís Albuquerque during her official visit to Luxembourg. The discussion centered on simplifying EU financial regulation while maintaining effectiveness.
Among the three key priorities presented for Europe’s financial framework, the organizations emphasized the critical need for stronger financial education for both citizens and professionals. This initiative aims to bridge the gap between complex financial services and public understanding, ensuring Europeans can make informed financial decisions in an increasingly digital landscape.
The call for enhanced financial education comes as the financial sector undergoes deep transformation, with new players like Big Tech companies and neo-banks reshaping the market. By prioritizing financial literacy alongside regulatory simplification and fair competition, Luxembourg’s financial associations are advocating for a more inclusive and accessible financial ecosystem across Europe.
This collaborative approach reflects Luxembourg’s commitment to promoting financial inclusion through education – a cornerstone of sustainable economic development.
