Fondation de Luxembourg Sets New Record in Philanthropic Giving in 2024

InFiNe member Fondation de Luxembourg has released its Annual Report for 2024, highlighting significant achievements in philanthropic giving with a strong focus on Education and Climate Action.
The foundation reached an impressive milestone by distributing almost 100 million euros cumulatively in charitable donations since its inception. In 2024 alone, the foundation allocated a record-breaking 11.2 million euros to charitable projects.

Among the year’s notable achievements was the launch of the Fondation pour le Climat initiative to bolster climate action, responding to growing global environmental challenges. The foundation also welcomed 7 new sheltered foundations, bringing the total to 119 by year-end (120 as of January 2025).

The report reveals the foundation’s expansive reach, with projects supported in 55 countries across five continents. A substantial 74% of support was directed to projects in Europe, with 43% of these initiatives based in Luxembourg.

Educational projects received particular attention in 2024, experiencing an 88% increase in donations. These initiatives range from local science and technology programs for Luxembourg youth to providing learning opportunities for Afghan refugee children in Pakistan.
