eMaisha Pay wins the Dubai edition of the CATAPULT: Inclusion Africa programme

The 2022 special edition of the “CATAPULT: Inclusion Africa” programme was held, for the first time, in Dubai, 21 – 23 March 2022, in the context of the World Expo 2020. This fintech development programmes managed by the LHoFT Foundation and funded by and created in collaboration with Luxembourg’s Development Cooperation welcomed 9 startups from 6 countries.

During the 3-day bootcamp, experts and mentors from the UAE and Luxembourg, including InFiNe.lu, ADA and Luxembourg for Finance, 2 InFiNe.lu members, supported the selected applicants in developping their business. Workshops and network meetings were organised with sponsors, mentors and investors to increase their visibility, share and exchange tips and experience on how to achieve their inclusion goals. After all, the bootcamp allowed to create synergies between the selected fintechs but also the mentors and experts.

The bootcamp culminated with a pitch session in which eMaisha Pay convinced a jury of international industry experts with its mobile platform unlocking financial opportunities, thanks to alternative data and psychometric parameters to credit score Small and Medium-sized Entreprises (SMEs) in Africa. This model makes it possible to serve SMEs that previously had no access to finance.
